Sober Living: A Review of the Basics
Alcohol and drug addiction recovery can be challenging, but help from trustworthy professionals will make this process much easier than it would be otherwise. That’s where sober living homes come in: in these facilities, residents develop life skills and get meaningful emotional support before returning to independent life.
When you’re looking for sober living Richardson residents trust, Real Deal Sober Living is your best option. Our facilities in this area give residents a chance to get better in a safe environment and learn how to live addiction-free lives.

Why Real Deal Sober Living Stands Out
If you live in or around Richardson, you have more than a few Dallas sober living facilities to choose from. Of course, not all of these halfway houses are equally good choices, and Real Deal will give you the best possible treatment for addiction.
At Real Deal, we’ve been working hard to help people in the area recover from their addictions since 2017. We believe in three core values:
- Accountability. When you stay at a Real Deal sober living home, you’ll be held responsible for the choices you make during your recovery.
- Community. Real Deal residents live alongside other people dealing with addiction, giving them a chance to build meaningful connections and help each other heal.
- Structure. Living at Real Deal will allow you to regain stability and build skills you’ll rely on long after you leave.
Advantages of Women-Only Sober Living
When they’re thinking about entering sober living, Richardson women should prioritize homes offering women-only sober living. These facilities come with benefits like:
- Sisterhood. Staying in a Real Deal facility for women will give you a chance to meet and connect with other women managing addictions of their own.
- Shared accountability. Everyone living in a Real Deal halfway home works together to overcome addiction.
- Gender-specific safety and comfort. In women-only transitional housing, Richardson women get emotional support and treatment services in a truly safe environment.

Can You Bring Your Pet to a Sober Living Facility?
When they’re looking for women’s sober living, Richardson residents often find these homes don’t accept pets – making it harder for pet owners to get the treatment they need. However, that doesn’t mean there are no pet-friendly sober living homes near you. In fact, Real Deal takes pride in allowing pets to stay at our facilities.
There are a number of reasons why we let residents bring pets to our sober living homes. Most importantly, we think caring for animals is an excellent way for patients to grow in terms of:
- Patience. Even the most well-behaved pets can be annoying at times. However, learning to live with these frustrations is a skill that will help you in your recovery journey.
- Discipline. When you’re responsible for a pet, it’s your job to keep it fed, take it outside, and clean up after it. By handling tasks like these on a daily basis, you’ll be one step closer to having a stable daily routine.
- Selflessness. Being a pet owner means putting your animal’s needs before your own. This is an excellent way to learn how to be more selfless in everyday life.
- Acceptance. Sometimes, your pet will act in ways you wish they didn’t (even if you spend time training them). Because of that, pet ownership can help people develop tolerance.
- Unconditional love. Good sober living homes strive to provide emotional support to their patients. Along with that, the unconditional love pets give to their owners can contribute to recovery.
Real Deal requires pets to be at least one year old, non-aggressive, housebroken, and spayed or neutered. You’ll also need to pay a nonrefundable one-time fee of $500 to bring your pet to one of our facilities.
