What is addiction?

Regardless of the negative consequences, the addict or alcoholic has an intense need to consume the substance. The disease of addiction is so powerful that people struggling will continue to use knowing it will result in problems. This is the dilemma for us addicts and alcohol.

Accordingly, each addiction is a type of phenomenon that illicit major cravings and the inability to control the use (regardless of negative consequences related to the addiction). Most people can easily spot the signs of addiction. Still, addiction is an elusive disease, and brutal honesty is required to admit that you have a problem.

Sex addiction is a difficult thing to gauge. Because sex is a normal and healthy human act, it is hard to say what is and what isn’t addictive.
Gambling, because of it’s high stakes nature, creates a euphoric feeling that leads to addiction.

Porn addiction is time consuming, upsetting, and misleading. Because of the prevalence porn has in our society, it’s hard to understand whether or not watching it is bad or unhealthy.
