Enabling Behaviors

There are a few tell-tale signs of enabling. Below are a few enabling signs to help identify unhealthy behaviors.

Number one. If you are missing quality time with yourself, your job, and your family (Those that are not using), then you may be an enabler. Helping your addicted love one does not mean giving them endless amounts of money, attention, and emotional time. There are boundaries that must be set and respected by all participants.

Number two. Going back on your word. Making constant promises to yourself, your relatives, and your suffering loved ones about not doing something, then going back on your own word. This happens constantly with enablers.

Number Three.  Not listening to professional advice.
